About:
Approved as of Monday, May 25, 2009 - Ulian Fiction: - Heart of the Runestone - Swallowed up by your Shadow - Scarlet and Grey - A Blank Page - Greyseer's Lament - An Afternoon Outing - Morning & Mourning - Into the Fire - Addiction - Staring at the Sun - Absence - Puppet Theatre - In Council Chambers - Beneath the Gilt - "Thank you." --- ![]() Full Name: Esere Greyseer Professions: Blacksmithing (Armorcrafting), Mining, Cooking, First Aid, Fishing Affiliation: Vice-Captain of the Fel'Solan, Wife to Renault Dawnsinger, Blood Knight Age: 38 (26 human appearance) Birthday: December 14 Short Bio: Only child to minor official. Left homeless and without family after 2nd war. Took to housekeeping, and joined Suncrown when Cyndesta and Velurian wed (6 years ago). Formerly squired to Velurian, recently promoted to Vice Captain of the Fel'solan and attempting to make a new name for the Greyseers. Physical description: A tired smile eternal plays on her lips, partially veiled by mahogany hair that also hides scarring around her right eye. Her eyes drink in her surroundings as they size up a person or situation. Her build is long limbed and lightly muscled. Creeping up from the collar of her shirt to the cuffs of her sleeves and any space in between is a flowing fel script in black inks. A golden wedding band sits on her ring finger - her only jewelry besides the rings in her upper ears. Personality: Overall, she is quiet and often called over polite. In love with the personification of Blood Knights, she attempts to always act in what she deems they would behave. With those who don't hold the same ideal, there is some scorn but always left unsaid. Family politics is something to be avoided whenever possible, but she's finding herself embroiled in them despite her best efforts otherwise. Well aware that she is a pawn in a larger game against their enemies, but finds it utterly repulsive to play that same game between members of the same bloodline. She's matured much since her knighting, taking on more responsibilities now that she is able to lead her own life. Character history: Early life: Life was simple as a young child. Growing up amongst the high households, her father was one, of the many in charge of maintaining the massive Runestones that protect the borders of Quel'Thalas. They often visited Silvermoon city on some business trip or another, but never for long as her home was at the edges of the Elven territories. Raised as the only child of a minor official, her duties were few, her free time expansive. Groomed to one day wed into an influential household, she held no interests in the arcane nor martial arts. Directionless, she was happy enough to simply become an uninteresting wife to a man that would benefit her family line. Her father being a worry wart par none, Esere was always doubtful of the "looming threat" at their borders. After all, the Sunwell graced the High Elves with it's power and stability. Even the Greyseer household far to the south received it's bounty. After their journey to the Eastern Kingdoms and initial skirmishes with the trolls that had claimed the land before them, war had become a thing of the past. What was there now to fear from a few hundred trolls in the woods? Even the wars in the human lands seemed like tales of the past with no more meaning than the stories spoken to children at night to warn them of the perils of staying up past their bedtimes. The Second War: Hard to imagine a life during war, it would be like trying to explain what snow is like to someone who's only heard about it or read of it in books. You could never explain the feel of delicate flakes caught in your finger tips to melt moments later, nor the sight of pure white stretching out to the horizon and beyond. When the wardrums sounded, her skepticism was the first victim. It was her Father's stone that broke first. Those that were not killed in the blast were then overrun by the blood frenzied trolls and orcs as they pounded through the now ruined barriers. Those who were not defending against the onslaught were ordered to withdraw further into Quel'Thalas, to seek refuge amongst the people until the soldiers could push the invaders back to their forsaken lands. Word had already been magically sent to the capital city, the Elrendar'Nel army was already marching. The escapees fled northward, spreading word to the elves that didn't know of the bloodshed to the south. Esere and her mother were amongst them, Esere coping with the situation far better than her parent. The first hour of their flight was hurried, in tears, but the woman grew more unresponsive as time wore on and the miles of their journey began increasing. They stopped at the Sanctum of the Sun, where many others had started to gather. The injured were tended to, the grieving spoken to. Esere's mother was taken into personal care by one of the priestesses there, leaving incompetent Esere to do what she will. Standing amidst so many disheartened elves and faced with her own ignorance, she began to actually do something. Bandages were passed out, meals distributed out amongst her fellow evacuees, buried the injured who never recovered. They were not safe there, the barbarian forces had followed them. Those who were able moved northward again as the assembled army went to meet their persuers. Esere lost her mother during the chaos of that time; many of the priestess to the Sanctum were also never seen again, like so many others. When the raiders were finally repelled, the elves began leaving. Some would return to their homes, attempting to repair their broken lives, the broken borders. Others, like Esere, would attempt to make their lives anew. Still in her early teens and without both parents and dowry, she moved throughout Silvermoon, maiding where ever she could. Smaller households had no need of yet another hired hand, larger households often had too many politics that ended with the newest being blamed whenever anything went wrong. News spread of the upcoming union of House Rellen'thas and Nerel'thos. She traveled to Suncrown village, ready to perhaps find a permanent home. Amid all the normal disorder of an addition to an already large household, she did find work, one of a handful of handmaidens to Cyndesta. Within that first happy year, she had managed to stay out of most gossip circles, earning a precious home after many years wandering and a true friend in Cyndesta. The Third War: This time, she was far more prepared. As the household rushed to leave their hereditary home, she was amongst them gathering valuables and helping lead staff and family from the village toward the capital. Accompanied by a token group of Suncrown guards, they began to trek into North Quel'Thalas. Several trolls, seperated from the main seige on Suncrown found their group of servants and family too young to fight not a day's travel from their beloved homes. The guards defended the Suncrowns well, yet one broke free from the wall of sword and shields. Charging directly at the huddled mass of servants, Esere plucked up the elf child that was too frightened to move, mostly missing the giant axe that swung down intending to kill them both. The edge did mark the right side of her face, leaving a scar that she would forever afterward hide behind her hair. Upon reaching Silvermoon, the assembled staff began setting up a temporary residence. It felt like weeks since they'd left most everything behind, but it had only been a few days until the first new members of their house began trickling into the city. Stories of death and heroism, revenge and remorse filled the streets. Esere, hungry for news of the family she served and their battle prowess, was found amongst the medic halls and at the very fringes of military conclaves. She'd matured much between the wars, finding peace in serving at the Suncrown house and then later the allure of battle. Drawn in by the romanticism, she wondered if she had the skill to wield blade and board to take back their territories. With her mistress's husband joining the Blood Knights within that same year, her curiousity grew ever stronger. From the Siege to the Opening of the Gates: For many months after the siege was finally lifted, while all was still in chaos, Esere started making her way out into the rest of Azeroth. She wasn't the only one to venture out, but she was given the task to seek the stray members of Suncrown and it's allied houses. The first she found was Fiamma, then as time passed, a few others. But it never felt like it was enough, that there was something more, a better way to serve them. Finally, she approached Cyndesta and Velurian about seeking a place among the ranks of Blood Knight. They gave her their whole hearted blessing, and she swore to return to them, to continue to serve them. Weeks wore on as she trained until her hands bled and calloused, lean muscle formed where once a slim lady's figure had been. A little over a full year after the siege, she joined the ranks of Blood Knight. Once her initial training was up, she returned to Suncrown, as promised, serving as a squire to Velurian and member of the house guard under Captain Dawnsinger. After the Opening of the Gates: Stepping through the portal was a sobering experience. The truth beyond the city gates was startling, changing. Many have had questions for her about the world beyond this one, and she doesn't offer any answers. Only that they must each, individually see it themselves. If she were to let slip the theories and rumors she's heard in the Outland... Silvermoon would not be able to handle it. After serving as squire to Velurian for many years, she was finally knighted. Along with her new title, she's come to own a mithril mine. The changes in her lifestyle have left her to flounder a bit. It is not easy for one who had led a life as a servant to develop the strength to fly under their own power. Relationships with other characters: Velurian - I hope that I can serve him and this house as he has done for us in the past and continues to do so to this day. He takes on a heavy burden by handling the household's affairs and alliances with the other families. I'd be honored to help him in any way possible. Cyndesta - From our many talks, I've come to value our time together these past few years. I do not envy her position between Suncrown and Nightfall, but I think her capable to keep the peace, and pacts healthy and fruitful. Renault - A bastion of courage! A pillar that holds the house aloft. Vierton - If it weren't for all his women chasing, he'd be quite a pleasant person to be around. Agho'linn - A sweet person. I think she's trying to look out for me when she starts harping about having spare time and not letting my duties run my life. In time, I will have an excess of time and be able to enjoy it. Opinion of various races: Undead - With the Lady Sylvanas at their lead, I think they will have the unity that they so deperately need. But still, I must make certain that they are not trying to attack me, or if they're simply being rude. It's hard to notice the difference. Orcs & Trolls - I have far less contact with these two groups. Their ways are their own and never shall we two mix. I do wish that the Orc city were a little better maintained. Tauren - The Bluff is beautiful. I find their culture to be primitive and quaint, but then again, no races can boast against the architecture in our City. I hear talk of their Earth Mother in passing only, my time with them is usually just as brief. Humans - Filthy opportunists. Not above sacrificing that which isn't theirs to their own ends. Perhaps their grandfathers had a shred of decency, but with their short life spans comes short attention spans. Their kingdoms will crumble into the mire if I have my way. Dwarves - ... They're simply smaller humans, yes? Gnomes - ... Even smaller humans? Nelfs - They thought themselves so superior. Now look who comes crawling to the table begging for friendship from human hands. I pray it bites them in the ass as it did us, it's only fitting for those who would do the same to their own brethren. Draenei - ... What do you mean "they're not demons?!" Short lineage: Halinn Ivorysong-Greyseer (dead) Mother Norvah Greyseer (presumed dead) Father Tibel Greyseer (dead) Grandfather Renault Dawnsinger, Husband Tirdiel Dawnsinger, Son
