Stepping through the portal, they were suddenly in the square before Tempest Keep, a circle of purple runes glowing around their feet. The journey between the Prince's City and the Prince's Fortress happened in less than a blink of an eye.

There were eight of them total, newly assigned Knights, Magisters, and the like to the Prince's stronghold in the Netherstorm. Esere had to carefully rearrange her expression to hide exactly how terrified she was as the head of the guard detatchment gestured to the the large, outer doors to the nethership. They opened on the silent cue. "Welcome home," the guard said, leaving Esere to hope she imagined the derision in his tone.
