Night had fallen in Menethil Harbor. As per his usual routine, Brannon Blackore retired to the local tavern to have some drinks with his friends after a long days work. Now drunk, he unsteadily wandered outside to the back of the tavern, undid his fly and relieved himself. He finished up and slwoly stumbled his way back to the front. As he neared the front door, he heard a loud deep growl that froze him in his tracks. He stood still for several moments, peering into the darkness. Satisfied that it was just his imagination, he continues on his way. Just as he took a step towards the taverns stairs, he stepped on something that made an unmistakable "click". He looked down, and slowly took a step back.

From the rooftop two houses down, Arkonn watched as the Tavern erupted into flame. The screams of those who hadn't been killed in the explosion now floated to his ears as they ran outside the tavern, little moving torches to his eyes. He smiled grimly as he watched the port town come alive in the dead of night. Guards and citizens alike flocked to the burning building, many running buckets of water and dousing those who hadn't succumbed to the flames. Arkonn whistled softy and Askett growled from somewhere below him. They were ready. The hunter and his companion stealthily made their way to the dockhouse on the other side of town. Arkonn tried the door only to find that it was locked. Looking around to see if the area was clear, he used his elbow to smash the glass of a window.

"Stay here and keep an eye out," He Commaned Askett, "And keep to the shadows." Askett growled an acknowlegement and Arkonn crept through the broken window. Once inside he proceeded to rifle through the various documents scattered around, his excellent night vision barely making out the titles of most. He knew enough common from days before the war to understand a majority of them.

Several minutes passed and he was still unable to find what he was searching for. He had just pulled open the drawer of a nearby desk when the door burst open behind him and light filled the room. Arkonn spun around to find himself face to face with a gnome holding a rifle that seemed to large for the small creature holding it.

"Who are you and what do you want" the gnome said in orchish that Arkonn could barely out.
"You speak Orcish?"
"Enough ships pass through here that i should know how." Said the gnome, "And you still haven't answered my question. What do you want?"
"I'm looking for a shipping record." Arkonn said, "Preferably anything that shows what ships have passed through in the last six months".
"And what would you need with that?"
"My business is my own."
"Really? well your in my shop, and i have the rifle pointed at you. Your business is my busines"
Arkonn sighed, and shook his head in frustration.
"Just tell me where it is and you'll live to see tommorow." The gnome cocked the rifle and aimed it squarely at Arkonn's face.
"I don't take threats kindly elf." The gnome said. "GUARDS!! To me!!."
Arkonn grimaced. "Have it your way." Askett roared and lept out of the inky darkness, catching the gnome in his massive claws, and draging him away to a dark corner of the dockhouse. Arkonn resumed his search only to be interrupted by a muffled scream and the sharp snap of bones. He sighed once again. "Try not to leave a mess Askett. Less than a minute later, he came across what he had been looking for. The file showed all ships that had docked at the harbor in the last year. He tucked the documents carefully into his travelling pack and exited the dockhouse.

A party of five guards had evidently head the gnome had come to investigate The were less than 30 meters away when they saw Arkonn exiting the dockhouse. Immediately the call was raised for more guards. Arkonn dropped 3 of the 5 with some well placed shots and launch his polearm at a fourth. It caught him in the chest and pinned him to the building behind him. Arkonn whistled for Askett and sent the cat after the fifth guards. Ark ran to the dead guards and pulled his polearm from the dwarf's chest, wiping the remaining gore on the ground. He looked over in time to see Askett rip the last guard's throat out. The guard fell to ground, screaming silently, he spasmed for several moments and finally lay still. Arkonn quickly scaled the nearest building and leapt onto the roof. He sprinted for the wall, and the exit for the city, but dislodged a loose shingle, which alerted the guards on the ground. They raised their rifles and began to fire shot after shot. Arkonn sprinted as fast as he could and leapt for the city wall. In mid-jump a bullet caught him in the leg, and he fell, hitting the groung hard. Gritting his teeth and doing his best to ignore the pain, he picked himself up and ran for the tree he had tethered his frostwolf to. He quickly mounted and sped away from Menethil.
