Patrilineal Succession
A title will pass to the eldest born son, unless that son is deemed deficient in some way (he is mentally or physically unfit). The title holder and no one else will make the decision if such a case presented itself.

If the title holder has no sons, the title will pass to his next eldest brother (with the same provisions of deficiency).

If the title holder has no brothers, the title will pass to the eldest nephew (with the same provisions of deficiency) by birthright: eldest brother's eldest son, then any other sons from that brother in order of birth and so on down the line of his brother's sons.

If the title holder has no nephews, the title will pass first to his eldest daughter to youngest and then to his eldest sister with the same rules and provisions as though she were his brother, and so on down the line of sisters.

If the title holder has no sisters, the title will pass to his eldest niece by first brother and then sister with the same rules and provisions as the rules for nephews.

If the title falls to a female heir, it is not shared with her husband, just as it is never shared with the title holder's wife.

Please note that once a title has been given, these hereditary rules renew. If the title is given to a lord's daughter, she would pass it to her eldest son and so forth.
