Their longevity makes it possible for a Sin'dorei to marry several times throughout the course of their lives. The infamous Colastria Whitebirch was said to have married more than eighty times. Although it is possible to remarry multiple times, it is frowned on. The Sin'dorei have a romantic literary tradition of celebrating widows and windowers who never remarry, clinging to the memory of their first beloved. Women who remarry for perceived material gains are often scorned within society as immoral.

After the first marriage, subsequent marriages are more often modest affairs (though there are notable exceptions). If their fathers have passed on and they are past the age of maturity, most Sin'dorei have a good deal of freedom in choosing their partners after their first marriage. If they see no benefit in remarriage, they may never remarry.
